Breaking News ! Wexham Park Hospital have given their 10,000 th vaccination since the rollout began. Julie, a sister at Thames Hospice, was the 10,000 th recipient of the coronavirus vaccine at the hospital in Slough. The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust have said it’s a “fantastic achievement for our vaccination team, who have been working so hard to protect people.” The pace of the vaccine rollout has been amped-up amid a significant rise in cases of the coronavirus, and the rapidly-spreading new variant. The Government have placed England in a third national lockdown whilst they attempt to lessen rates, contain the new variant, and vaccinate people in the priority groups.

At present, those priority groups include anyone over the age of 70, extremely vulnerable, working in care homes for older adults, and frontline health and social care workers. Earlier this week Newbury Racecourse became a Vaccination Site as the Government rushes to protect the vulnerable amid the rise in cases.
