Breaking News ! Three more people with Covid-19 have died in a hospital serving Berkshire, according to NHS England figures released on Tuesday (March 2). All of the new deaths were recorded at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Meanwhile 42 new cases of the virus have been recorded across Berkshire in the last 24 hours. Slough saw the biggest increase, with 13 new Covid cases. The lowest number of new cases was inBracknell Forest, where just three new cases were discovered. At a national level, the Government said a further 343 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 123,296. The Government also said that, as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 6,391 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

This is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases for each area of Berkshire since the start of the pandemic: Bracknell Forest : 6,815 cases (increase of 3) Reading : 10,503 cases (increase of 7) Slough : 14,607 cases (increase of 13) West Berkshire : 6,095 cases (increase of 4) Windsor and Maidenhead: 8,013 cases (increase of 7) Wokingham : 7,866 (increase of 8) This is the latest data on the total number of deaths at NHS trusts in and around Berkshire: Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust: 1,210 (no change) Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust: 495 (increase of 3) Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust: 32 (no change)
How many people have had a Covid vaccine? Government data up to March 1 shows that of the 21,322,717 jabs given in the UK so far, 20,478,619 were first doses – a rise of 203,168 on the previous day. Some 844,098 were second doses, an increase of 28,282 on figures released the previous day.
